San Diego Ruckus Paintball

San Diego Ruckus Paintball from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

This intro animation was created for San Diego Ruckus Paintball. I have some friend who are on the team and they wanted me to animate the logo for the team. You can check out their team info and awesome content at http://sdruckus.com/. I took the Illustrator and added some cool sound fx and elements to make it seem like there was some real weight to the text as well as the bomb. This project was fun to work on and I hope I can work with some more people in the extreme sports and sports industries.

Centennial

Chula Vistas 100th Birthday from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

In this video I created a collage of photos in 3d space for the Chula Vista Centennial. I used particular to create the particles which became the photos. I also used Mettle's Shape shifter to extrude the logos of Chula Vista. The video was played recently at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. Several hundred were in attendance and it was a great experience.

Previs

Untitled from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

In this short animation I created a 3d logo from an illustrator file provided by a client. I used Zaxwerks Pro Animator with After Effects to create the logo. This plug in works great and the lighting and camera techniques are straight forward and lets you have full control.

Desert Intro

desert from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

This clip was created for a friend of mine who wanted a unique intro for his demo reel. He is an editor, so he had a specific idea in mind. After doing some story boarding, I created the animation of the 35mm film strip in After Effects by duplicating them a bunch of times and sticking them together end to end to create a long strip. I used a photo I found online that was taken in death valley. I used Photoshop to erase some of the rocks that were blocking the place where the film strip comes from the horizon. Finally, I used an adjustment layer to do the day to night transition and had a prekeyed clipped for the dust coming at the camera.

Comic Book effects

Heat Vision from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

In these three projects I created some bullet bounce and muzzle flash effects for a guy who creates comic book shorts for his website. In the first one, I rotoscoped and colorized the gun to simulate it heating up. All effects were done in After Effects.

In this one, I combined some color correction with some elements from action movie essentials to create the bullet bounce. The sound fx were from my own library of sound fx.

This video has multiple effects including a flying bullet and muzzle flash. With the combination of motion blur and some color correction, the action of the gun moving with the actor was more believable.

Football anyone?

I created this with some basic masks of my face and placed my eyes and mouth on a football. I used Magic Bullet Looks for the color correction. Overall it was a quick and fun project. You would be surprised at what you can learn from talking to yourself in a public park.
