Intel Leadership

In this project I helped another editor edit the photos shown for 3d camera moves. This camera move or technique is most commonly known as the Ken Burns Effect. Sometimes the person or subjects in the photo can be moved just slightly to make it seem more realistic. In this edit I included the frames that I worked on that were also included in the final extended version.

ItSeez 3d

Intel is developing some new 3d cameras and software for tablets. In this video I rotoscoped the actors as they interact with the tablet. In addition to animating masks, I also tracked the screens on the tablets so they can be ready for the videos to be attached later.

CES 2015- Qualcomm

In this video I removed almost all the Cadillac logos from the car shown in the video. The only shot I didn't work on was the shot where the car is making a right hand turn at about the :30 mark. The challenges for removals such as this is the camera angle. If the camera zooms in, or the subject changes perspective, or it scales up, the final product can like distorted. The tracking of the subject(in this case the car) has to be very smooth. In this case, the grill has a pattern that is precise and centered on the car. I had to make sure I created a new pattern without the logo that was seamless and not distracting.

Hughes Marino

In this video I was asked to cover up some natural skin blemishes on the narrator. This process is also called beautification. I used photoshop first to create a clean image without the blemishes. After that I brought in the clean plates into After Effects and tracked them accordingly. This still image shows were the blemishes were before, and the final video is below.

Red Bull Air Race-Las Vegas

The Red Bull Air Race is held around the world and features some of the world best pilots. I was contracted to create the smoke that would trail one of the computer generated planes. The plane is shown at the be introduction of the video. The rough mock up is shown first as well as the final video which was shown on a huge jumbo tron in downtown LasVegas. I used Trapcode Particular to create the smoke. I created longer and different variations, but since the transition happens quickly, the final animation was shorter.

Terminator

I created this video because Terminator 2 is my all time favorite movie. It started my curiosity and love for VFX. This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the original Terminator movie. I created the animation using the puppet tool and displacement maps in After Effects. The music is from the Original Terminator 2 Soundtrack. The terminator bust is from Side show Collectibles. I hope fans of the franchise enjoy my video.

JFH: Justice For Hire - Retribution Task Force

This project was created for a short film that premiered at COMIC CON 2014. Justice For Hire is a popular graphics novel that was transitioned into film. My contributions to this film was as a compositor. During the fight scenes I added lighting and debris falling from the ceiling. The debris can be seen at the 3:41 and 4:01 marks respectively.

2014 QRD and Wireless Innovation Summit

In this video I took part in several rotoscopes as well as object removals. The actors that are singled out the most are at the 0:42, 1:00, and 1:24 marks. The sign removals are most seen at the 1:32 mark.

Intel RealSense

This video was created for Intel via StaticJoe Studio and the Clarity Creative Agency. I motion tracked every tablet and screen that is shown in the video. I also rotoscoped the actors and elements that interacted with the screen to seamlessly integrate the new screen images. This new addition was shown for the first time at the 2014 CES show in Las Vegas.

Qualcomm Snapdragon

I worked on this short video via StaticJoe Studio and Film35mm productions. In this case I tracked the water bottle in the main frame as well as the bottle in the upper left hand corner. Then I blurred the label of the name brand.

Qatar Tv- Tree

 The tree itself was creating in Maya by a team of artists, however I created some of the leaves that fall from the tree as well as the fine "pixie" dust that is included as well. In addition to those particle systems, I rotoscoped the actor for the duration of the video and digitally erased several markers that were place on the books in the background.

In this video, I created the rain for the shots that lead up to the last wide angle shot of the woman looking up at the cloud following her. I also rotoscoped the woman, the umbrella in preparation for the matte painting in the background.

In this video I rotoscoped the woman and the girl as the butterflies fly around the two. I also did some color treatment to the girls face.

In this video I rotoscoped the men in the video as well as created some of the dirt particles and dust elements that occur when the turf is lifted.

I recently worked on the show Project Runway while working at a studio called Shilo. In this commercial I did much of the rotoscope work as well as some color correction and digital enhancements.

In this video, I created the majority of the animation involving the process of how TeraData's software and services work. My favorite part is the globe at the end which is something that is simple yet effective to catch the viewers eye.

Paper Heart

I did some visual effects for an indie band recently, they are called Auto Magik. This is a shortened version of the music video, I added all the smoke and fire that appears on the heart as well as the drummer. I also created some CG snow to create a transition at one point in the video.

San Diego Ruckus Paintball

This intro animation was created for San Diego Ruckus Paintball. I have some friend who are on the team and they wanted me to animate the logo for the team. You can check out their team info and awesome content at http://sdruckus.com/. I took the Illustrator and added some cool sound fx and elements to make it seem like there was some real weight to the text as well as the bomb. This project was fun to work on and I hope I can work with some more people in the extreme sports and sports industries.

Centennial

Chula Vistas 100th Birthday from JAMES CAMACHO on Vimeo.

In this video I created a collage of photos in 3d space for the Chula Vista Centennial. I used particular to create the particles which became the photos. I also used Mettle's Shape shifter to extrude the logos of Chula Vista. The video was played recently at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. Several hundred were in attendance and it was a great experience.
